The flying nun

The flying nun. A nun from the Binh Loi orphanage leaps to throw a brick to a worker during the construction of a new classroom, circa 1969.

This aid project was instigated by HQ NZ V Force in Saigon, with staff members volunteering their time to help build a new playground and classroom at the orphanage. As witnessed by the photo the nuns were only too happy to help out with the labouring - often urged on by bemused New Zealand soldiers shouting 'go nunney baby' or 'give it heaps sister'.
