FSB Longreach from the air

Aerial view of FSB Longreach, November 1968. You can see that it has all round defence and the six gun pits are clearly visable. It was not unusual for 161 Battery to spend some weeks in such a position well away from Nui Dat supporting infantry operations. Supplies were flown in daily when the situation allowed. The main item required was water, which came in 5 gallon plastic cans.
