Gossip column from The Vietnam Guardian, 26 February 1971.

One of the articles, under the heading 'Last Dance', describes how 30 people in suburban Saigon were arrested for dancing – a prohibited act since the communist Tet offensive of 1968.

Transcript

Thirty young people were arrested at a house in suburban Tan Dinh last Saturday night for dancing.

Authorities said they had received complaints from neighbours and went to the scene to investigate.

Reports say that 15 couples were caught in the act of dancing.

The 15 couples plus the proprietor of the house were all arrested.

Dancing has been outlawed in Saigon since the communist Tet offensive of 1968.
