About Me:
Born 27 May 1968 at Waikato Hospital to Daniel Stephens and Tunganekore Kawharu, I am the youngest child with 2 sisters (Annette Aroha, Dallas Maree-Deceased) and 1 brother (Kevin Michael).
My mother often spoke with great love and admiration of her brother - Rodney James Rameka (Service Number: 44602 Gnr 161 Bty/1 NZATTV) and often produced photographs of him during his time in Vietnam. Mum also spoke affectionately of the cassettes he would send her of "Credence Clearwater Revival" from Vietnam and would also comment on how he thought she would enjoy the music. Uncle "Sona" bought Mum a watch which she still has and treasures to this day.
Unfortunately, my Uncle passed away July 5th 2008 and will be sadly missed.
I am a mother of a son residing in Sydney, Australia as too is my mother. I would like to commend all involved in the compilation of information relating to ALL Men who served and lost their lives with the RNZA and would dearly love to hear from anyone who has information regarding my Uncle.

Owner's note:
It is April 24th 2009 and I have registered my details with this site in an effort to receive responses from anyone who may have served with my Uncle "Rodney James Rameka", Service# 44602, Unit 161 Bty Gunner in Vietnam. In particular, I would love any information as to the relationships he forged with his fellow comrades, any jokes and/or particular memories (good, bad or otherwise) which may have significance to my Uncle. For those of you who are aware of who my Uncle was, please be aware that he passed away July 5th 2008 in Hamilton. I apologise to bearer of sad news, but thus my reason for requesting any information ANYONE may have regarding Uncle Rodney. My Mum and I will be present at the ANZAC Dawn Service at Martin Place, Sydney Australia tomorrow and will be thinking of all those who; lost loved ones in the various wars across this globe, served and are serving in any of the various armed forces across the globe and also the young men & women who may be considering careers in the Defence Forces.
