Born in Bath, United Kingdom. Member of the fifth Refugee Welfare team based in Pleiku (September 1973–September 1974) and volunteered to stay on as leader of the sixth Refugee Welfare Team (September 1974–14 March 1975). Died when the Air Vietnam DC4 aircraft he was a passenger on crashed near Pleiku on 12 March 1975. The remainder of the team were immediately withdrawn and returned to New Zealand. NZOSM and NZGSM issued to his brother John Riding on 16 March 2004. His brother advises that there was no body recovered at the crash site, so Mac remains somewhere in the jungles near Pleiku.
